" Students achieve very highly in the National Certificates of Educational Achievement (NCEA) and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). Nationally standardised tests show that students at Years 7 - 10 also achieve very well. The levels of students at Carmel College are significantly above average for girls' schools nationally and for girls' schools of similiar socio-economic status. Students have many opportunities to develop leadership skills at all levels of the school. Outstanding individual and group achievement in national and regional sporting events, as well as achievement in cultural and arts events, are testament to the high levels of achievement at Carmel College. Students speak about their school with pride. They display a well developed social conscience and endeavour to make a difference in society through actively contributing to the well-being of others. The special character of the school is evident in the considerate and personable interactions that students have with their peers, staff and visitors to the school. "
