7ABR Students Take Action to Make a Difference

On Sunday 19th October we ran a fundraiser at the Kumeu Markets for St Vincent De Paul House as part of our social studies project. After baking from 4-9 pm the night before, we set up our stall early with brownies, cupcakes, cookies, lollies, and free water. One of us did face painting to raise money for the Saving Hope Foundation. It was a great experience. Our customers were kind, and some even gave extra donations. We had a great time walking around the markets, handing out free lollies and balloons to promote and advertise our stall. It felt so good to raise money for charity and we hope it really makes a difference

At first, we thought fundraising for De Paul House would be easy, but there was so much to plan, from packaging to ingredients. In the end, we raised $250 for De Paul House, a charity that helps provide housing, food, clothing, education, and childcare for struggling families and seniors in Auckland. We chose them because we wanted to help address homelessness in our community. We also raised $30 for the saving hope foundation, which is a foundation that raises money for animals in need.
