Annual Music Showcase
Last Thursday evening, Carmel College celebrated our annual Music Showcase, with well over 250 whānau, friends and Carmel old girls in the audience to support our talented musicians.
Nearly 120 students took to the stage, delivering fantastic performances across all our ensembles. A special highlight was the Year 7 Band’s very first performance, while Ms Barker’s surprise cameo on tambourine was another memorable moment!
A huge thank you to all our music directors and students for the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm that made the evening such a success. What a wonderful celebration of music at Carmel!
Junior Treble Voices Festival
On Sunday Mrs Verdonk and our Year 7 & 8 singers in Carmonics took part in the Junior Treble Voices Festival, held at Westlake Girls High School. The choir enjoyed 3 workshops with leading choral clinicians, learnt a waiata, and rehearsed the Massed choir items with singers from 9 other schools. It was a fabulous day and after a shared pizza lunch, the choirs presented an afternoon concert to parents. Mrs Verdonk would like to thank her two parent helpers, and Whaea Kelly for accompanying the girls on piano.
