Congratulations to the following students
New Zealand Sailing Youth Nationals
Tessa Clinton won the double-handed female title at the 420 Class NZ Youth Nationals. This win earned her selection to represent New Zealand at World Sailing’s Youth World Championships this December, marking her final Youth Worlds campaign.
North Island Secondary School Skiing Competition
River Thompson placed 1st in junior girl’s category for snowboarding slopestyle and now holds the title as North Island Champ.
2026 Gymnastics Nationals
Held in Tauranga during the holidays, results for the Carmel students are below:
- Ava Samuels (Step 10) placed 5th overall and won 1st on Bars and 3rd on Vault
- Maisy Lyons (Step 7) 4th Vault & 8th Floor
- Gerayn Chow (Step 7) 5th Beam & 17th Overall

Waterpolo U16 Nationals
Sophia Railton, Charlie Gerdin, Kennice Shek and Sophie Bell-Booth, won Silver in the Division 1 New Zealand U16 Waterpolo Nationals
Hockey U16 Nationals
Sophie Spence and the U16 North Harbour team placed 4th at Nationals, with the final game ending in a penalty shootout
Netball Northern Development Camp
The following girls have been selected for this camp based on their performance over the year in the school and representative Netball season – Emily Meale, Amaia Warren, Bella Murphy, Jamie Beckett, Elyse Llewellin, Elizabeth Beckett and Mia Williams
Surf Lifesaving Pool National Championships
- Mila Jackson – Gold in 200m Obstacles and Silver in U17 Medley Relay
- Charlotte Baker – Silver in 50m Swim with Fins
- Mila Mitchell – 4 National titles, 2 Silver and 1 Bronze medal across seven U12 events
NZ Nationals Artistic Swimming Competition
Daniella Abrego Zepeda placed 2nd in the Youth Combo event with North Harbour
Ice Skating and Tap Dancing Championships
Athena Macmac won Gold in Basic Novice Figure Skating at the North Island Championships! She was also selected for the Development Squad after meeting the required technical score. Athena has also been selected to represent New Zealand for the second time at the Tap Dance World Championships 2027 in Prague, Czech Republic.
