Mark your calendars! On Saturday 14 November, Carmel College will once again welcome our community to one of the most anticipated events on the school calendar – Twilight Christmas by the Lake.
From 4.30pm to 8.30pm, the school grounds will come alive with a beautifully curated Christmas market featuring talented local artisans and small businesses. It’s the perfect opportunity to find unique Christmas gifts, support local businesses and start ticking off that Christmas shopping list.
A fantastic selection of food trucks and vendors will ensure dinner is sorted, while the stunning setting of Lake Pupuke provides the perfect backdrop for a relaxed summer evening with family and friends.
From 5.00pm until 8.00pm, Christmas carols and live performances will fill the air with festive spirit. We are especially excited to showcase performances from our own talented Carmel students, making this a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the gifts and talents of our girls while enjoying a community sing-along under the evening sky.
As the sun sets over the lake and the lights begin to twinkle across the market, there is a special magic that can only be found at Carmel. Whether you come to shop, dine, sing along, or simply catch up with friends, we hope every Carmel family will join us for this memorable evening.
Volunteers Needed
Events like this only happen because of the amazing support of our community, and we’d love your help.
We are looking for volunteers who can assist with:
- Friday afternoon set-up
- Saturday morning decorating and setting up gazebos
- Event shifts from 4.00pm – 6.30pm or 6.30pm – 9.00pm
- Saturday evening pack-down
- Sunday morning clean-up, including removing decorations and helping return the school grounds to normal
You don’t need to volunteer all day. Even one shift makes a huge difference and helps ensure the event is enjoyable for everyone involved.
If you can lend a hand, please contact the PTFA at ptfa@carmel.school.nz by Friday the 24th of October (so we get our ducks in a row!!)
We can’t wait to celebrate the start of the Christmas season with you.
