Winter Tournament Week 2025

Carmel Netball at the Upper North Island’s Tournament 2025 

5 wins and 5 losses saw the team finish 22nd in A Grade at this tournament, with a total of 128 teams in attendance.
Thank you coach Linda Vagana and Sarah Bonham and Ginny Peek for being with the team over this week.
Carmel Netball farewell five Y13 Senior 1 players Lily Farman, Maisey Lendrum, Agatha Godinet, Annie Gaylard & Milly Lloyd, plus Imogen O’Rourke & Emma Buckingham from Senior 2.
This year we also had a large group of Y13 players playing socially every Saturday morning, long may you continue to play the sport for enjoyment with your friends.
To all our Y13’s who coached a Carmel team this year, thank you for being such great role models for our young students.

 

Carmel Football at the Upper North Islands Grant Jarvis Tournament 

5 wins, 1 loss and 1 draw saw the team finish the week in 9th place – Winners of the plate final.
Carmel Football farewells Y13 players Riley Redfern-Hardisty, Mia Scott, Imogen Hunt, Seanna Watson, who have all been strong role models in the sport from the start. We look forward to following you in your next adventures ahead.
We are also farewelling the dynamic duo of coach Anna Perkins and manager Jo Redfern-Hardisty, who are signing out of Carmel Football after 4 years. Thank you for everything you have given to the sport and our Carmel girls over this time.

 

Senior Basketball are off to NATIONALS 

The goal was set right at the start of the year and they achieved it!
Placing 4th in the Northern Premiership tournament, after an outstanding quarterfinal match vs Rangitoto on Saturday night. The 3 point shots were on fire, resulting in a 94-93 win.
A massive thank you to manager Beth Railton and coach Chris Vaughan, plus the army of family and friend supporters behind this team.

 

Carmel Hockey at the 2025 Chica Gilmer Upper North Islands Tournament 

The 1st XI Hockey team spent the week away in sunny Mount Maunganui. 4 wins and 2 losses placed the team 11th overall.
The biggest acknowledgment is to PAUL MCGOON. After more than 10 years of coaching Carmel hockey, he is saying farewell. His calm and relaxed manner, which sometimes got fiery on the sideline, always brought out the best in our players on the turf. We cannot thank him enough for all the time and passion he has poured into every student he has coached.
Carmel Hockey also farewells five Y13 1st XI players, Nadja McGoon, Mia Scott, Charlotte O’Rourke, Isabelle Esnouf and Tara Hodson. Plus nine players who played together in the 3rd Xl this season. You are all leaving having given so much to this sport.
Thank you to the 1st Xl manager Hollie Miller and assistant coach Petrea Neal for this week and the season.
Big shout out to Brooklyn Burton, Kathy Giles, Sally Esnouf and Neil Harris from the 2nd and 3rd XI this season too.

Sasha – Top 12 Dressage Test 0D, 1st in Junior Division B Mounted Games
Sachi – Top 11 Dressage Test 0D, Top 12 Show Hunter 60/70cm
Grace Walker – Top 12 Dressage Test 0C, Clear 95cm Arena Eventing
Ellie MacDonald – 4th Show Jumping 2Phase 80/90cm, Top 11 Show Hunter 80/90cm
Brooke Wilkin – 6th place Show Hunter, 3rd Place CTR, 7th Place Accummulator Show Jumping – all 80/90cm
Caitlyn Wilkin – 8th 2Phase Show Jumping, 9th Accummulator Show Jumping, 9th Show Hunter and top 11 Arena Eventing – all 1.05-1.15m

A big thank you must go to all the parents and supporters of these girls. The camaraderie between this group is something to be proud of.
