Held on Wednesday, 17 September, the 2025 Year 8 Eco-Fashion Show was a spectacular evening of sustainable style, creativity, and student innovation — the culmination of five weeks of hard work and collaboration. An estimated 500 people filled the Carmel Gym to watch our talented Year 8 students bring their eco-conscious designs to life on the runway.
Guided by the Year 8 teaching team, students designed and created fashion ensembles using only reused, recycled, or upcycled materials — a bold and thoughtful response to the global issue of fast fashion. Their work beautifully embodied our Core Mercy Value of Whakute (Respect) — respect for themselves, for others, and for the environment.
This event was truly a team effort, and we would like to acknowledge and thank all those who made it possible.
The Eco-Fashion Show is not only a highlight of the Year 8 calendar but a shining example of what can be achieved when creativity, sustainability, and community come together.
