Carmel PTFA Annual General Meeting

AGM – Tuesday 21 March

6.30pm in the staffroom

Welcome new parents, caregivers and friends of the college!

The PTFA is made up of parents and friends of the school, along with both teacher and student representatives.  The aim of the PTFA is to partner with the school to support our daughter’s education, and there are two main ways we do this.  Firstly by raising funds for special projects and extra resources for the school, and secondly by fostering a sense of community, and often these two things happen together.

Through popular fundraisers such as the Christmas Market, Student Quiz Night and Parent/Daughter Breakfast, the PTFA are able to make an annual donation to the school to help with scholarships for school leavers, extra curricular resources and contribute to one-off special projects, such as the outdoor learning environment.

Joining the PTFA is a great way to get involved in the school community and connect with new people.  Members don’t have to be involved in all aspects – you can be part of the core committee, or simply volunteer to help at a specific event.  Every contribution helps, and the wider the range of skills, the better!

This year the Board of Trustees and Senior Leadership Team will review and decide on a new Strategic Plan for the College and as members of the PTFA, parents will have an active voice in the process.

Our next meeting will be our Annual General Meeting, held on Tuesday 21 March, 6.30-7.30pm in the school staffroom.  We would love to see some new faces and hear your ideas.

To assist with catering please RVSP to ptfa@carmel.school.nz if you plan to attend our AGM next month.
