From The Principal

Tena koutou katoa. Nga mihi atawhai nui.

We are now a few days into our school year. It has been delightful to see so many enthusiastic and happy students engaging with their learning. The girls and the staff are adjusting to wearing their masks all day, indoors. Today, in the humidity, it is especially taxing and we appreciate how all our students are doing the right thing by wearing their masks appropriately, keeping themselves and each other safe.

In these very challenging times, the Ministry of Health is making available an online resource to support parents and their whānau. Here are the details for you to explore and decide if it is right for you and yours.

Free online parenting programme – Wellbeing Support

Support your child’s emotional wellbeing and help reduce stress for the whole whānau. The Triple P – Positive Parenting Program® has helped thousands of Aotearoa families be happier, cope better with stress, and enjoy family life more.

Choose the FREE online course that’s right for you, to help with child or teen anxiety, general parenting issues, and supporting your child’s development. An entire range of tips and tools are all available to all parents and caregivers in our region. Find out more at https://triplep.online/nzmoh

Free access to Triple P Online, Teen Triple P Online, and Fear-Less Triple P Online has been funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Health, with support from Whāraurau.

I hope that you find this resource useful. This is part of our work to continue to offer support to our community through making you aware of the availability of different options.

“Education is not about knowing things or taking lessons but about being able to use three lingos: those of the head, the heart, and the hands… learning so that you can think about what you feel and do, can feel what you think and do, and can do what you feel and think. Unity within a person.” Pope Francis
