From the Principal

Tena koutou katoa. Nga mihi nui atawhai.

7 days into lockdown. I hope that all of your bubbles are still all bright and shiny – and intact.

This has been a week of enormous change for all of us and all to ensure that, by locking down, we can prevent more harm and even death to those in our community who are the most vulnerable.

Our Student Leaders have been amazing at coming up with both encouraging messages and activities to engage all our students. A link to some of their work is on our school website https://www.carmel.school.nz/online-learning/

Our Sports’ Council students are creating activities and challenges on their Instagram site to keep our students healthy and active.

Here is an acknowledgement of their work from the North Harbour Sports’ Facebook page

All of our staff are still working on developing online learning programmes that can begin in Term 2.

The Senior Leadership Team are holding virtual, online meetings, twice weekly, to continue to co-ordinate and support both the students and the staff as they navigate this lockdown time.

We hope to have the Online Learning Timetable available to all students and staff by the middle of next week. This will ensure there will be a smooth start to the online learning in the new term.

We will continue to post resources and information on our Carmel website page, as it becomes available.

Take care and look after yourselves and all your whānau.
