From the Principal

Tena koutou katoa. Nga mihi nui atawhai.

I am on the road to recovery!! Back on the bitumen!! Back onto my preferred, smoother, sealed and signposted road that I was travelling before.

I feel very blessed that my medically induced detour, down some very windy and potholed back roads, has come to an end for now. I have officially been declared in remission.

I would like to thank the many people, staff, students, parents and others in the wider Carmel community who have held me in their prayers and sent so many kind words of encouragement. I am truly humbled by this support.

I would like to especially thank Karen Mitchell who has stepped up to Acting Principal so ably to keep everything running so seamlessly. And to Deb Goudie, Sheryl Henderson, Siobhan Harrod and Rosanna Fouhy who have also had to take on extra duties in my absence. Knowing that I didn’t have to worry about school at all and just focus on my recovery has made the journey so much easier.

I am looking forward to being able to focus on continuing to deliver the very best learning and teaching programmes here at Carmel.
