We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate leader to head our Sports Department. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive sporting environment, while upholding the Catholic values of the school.
The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in enhancing sporting opportunities, increasing student participation, and improving performance across a variety of sports and physical activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Lead the sports department to ensure high-quality sporting opportunities for all students.
- Promote the Catholic values of the school throughout all sports and physical recreation initiatives.
Programme Development and Delivery
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive sports and physical recreation programme that meets a wide range of skill levels and interests.
- Ensure the programme fosters physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth, in alignment with the school’s overall vision and values.
Increasing Participation and Performance
- Develop strategies to boost student participation in sports and physical activities.
- Focus on improving student performance across various sporting disciplines, providing both recreational and competitive opportunities.
- Identify and nurture talented students, helping them reach their full potential in sports.
Administration and Resource Management
- Manage the department’s budget and resources effectively, ensuring the best use of human, physical, and financial assets.
- Oversee scheduling of sports events, training sessions, and fixtures, ensuring all logistics run smoothly.
- Maintain accurate records on student participation, achievements, and performance.
Community and Public Relations
- Build strong relationships with parents, local sports clubs, and community partners to further develop the sports programme.
- Promote the school’s sports achievements through events, newsletters, social media, and local media.
- Foster a strong sense of school pride and community involvement through sports initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience in a leadership role in sports or physical education.
- Strong communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and inspire others.
- In-depth knowledge of sports coaching, physical education, and programme management.
- Experience in budget management and resource allocation.
- A passion for sports and physical activity, with a commitment to developing students’ skills and well-being.
