Eight Year 7&8 students recently took part in the regional qualifier for NZCF.  For many, this was the first time they had taken part in a chess competition and they equipped themselves very well, winning some, losing some.  They were the only two teams fully made up of girls.  Sarah Sun (Year 7) won five out of six games, placing fourth overall in the competition.
