Carmel College entered four teams into the E Pro 8 competition  held at Takapuna Intermediate School recently. E Pro 8 is a science and technology competition. All four teams were competitive and represented the school well. The Year 7 team of  The Golden Caramels was Sophie Barreto, Angela Braganza, Kriya D’Sa and Jovana Tutilic. They were placed 3rd overall and will compete in the finals next month. Congratulations to all participants.
Congratulations to Janine Ramos who will be attending Discovery Camp at Otago University in January. Travel expenses, accommodation and two weeks of exciting Science workshops are included in the scholarship from Otago University.
Congratulations to Danielle Meek and Caitlin Blewden who have received scholarships from Milford Rotary to attend a two week ‘Hands -on- Science’ course at Auckland University. They will live on campus and attend lectures and workshops in preparation for University in 2021.
Congratulations to Hannah Houlbrooke in Year 11 who had some dancing success recently at the 2019 National Young Performer Awards held in Palmerston North. Hannah’s dance studio Neverland Studios won three bids to compete at PACANZ – which is the National Young Performer Awards potentially the most prestigious dance competition in NZ across all genres of dance where dancers throughout NZ are selected to compete. Her troupe competed in the group section out of 60 other groups and overall came 5th in New Zealand as well as receiving the President Award.
