The season of Easter: Finding Real Hope in Term 2

Welcome back! While the school holidays have come to an end, the Season of Easter – a 50-day journey toward Pentecost – is only just beginning. In a world often marked by uncertainty, the Easter message offers a radical statement about renewal: that darkness never has the final word, and new life can emerge from any suffering or hardship.

At Carmel, this isn’t just a theological concept; it is a call to action. We find the deepest meaning of Easter reflected through our Core Mercy Values, which guide us as we step into the challenges and opportunities of a new term.

Living the Easter Message through Mercy

Service & Care: Just as the Easter story is one of ultimate sacrifice and tending to the vulnerable, we are called to look outward. True hope is an action. When we serve our community and care for one another, we become the “living hands” of the Easter message.

Respect & Justice: Easter reminds us of the inherent dignity of every person. Practicing Respect and seeking Justice means standing up for the marginalised and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to experience the “new life” that this season promises.

Courage: It took immense courage for the early followers of Jesus to choose hope when things seemed darkest. This term, we draw on that same Courage –  bravery to be kind, the strength to persist through difficult study, and the heart to lead with integrity.

Hope is an active choice. As we settle into the rhythm of Term 2, let’s choose to be people of hope who believe we can make our world brighter through kindness, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to our Mercy values. Mercy is the spirit of Easter in action!

Welcome back to a term of growth and renewal.
