High Fashion & High Confidence: Students Shine at ‘Walk the Line’
Students from across the country competed across four distinct categories:
- High Fashion – Chloe Ball
- Streetwear – Addison Prently
- Avant-Garde – Scarlett Simpson
- Cultural Fashion

Mrs Tepou and Miss Matthews had the absolute pleasure of attending the event to support the designers. It was a massive thrill to see the students take to the runway alongside their outstanding garments. They held themselves exceptionally well under the bright lights—exuding confidence, poise, and immense talent.

This event has provided invaluable industry exposure and a huge confidence boost for our students. In fact, the experience was so rewarding that all three are already determined to enter again next year!

Year 10 Materials Students Rise to the Challenge with Hoodie Unit
There was plenty of pride in the Year 10 Materials classroom recently as students completed their very first hoodie!
The students worked incredibly hard throughout the unit, developing a range of new skills and techniques along the way. They learned how to read and interpret pattern symbols, cut accurately using the grain line and fold, and follow a pattern from start to finish.
For many students, the unit also provided their first opportunity to use an overlocker and explore screen printing, adding an extra layer of challenge and creativity to their finished garments.
The results were fantastic, and the students were rightly proud of what they had achieved. It was wonderful to see their confidence grow as they developed new practical skills and turned their ideas into a finished piece of clothing they could wear and enjoy.
Their families were equally impressed with the quality of the finished hoodies — a testament to the students’ hard work, care and perseverance throughout the unit.
Well done to our Year 10 Materials students — you should be very proud of your achievement!
