Year 9 Te Reo Students Visit St Mary’s School

As part of Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori (Māori Language Week), two Year 9 classes taught by Whaea Kelly travelled to St Mary’s School to teach the students there some Te Reo. The Carmel students planned their own Māori language activities and presented them to the St Mary’s students. These included traditional games like Tī Rākau, Mauī-Matau and Hei Tama tū Tama, along with different games like a Māori language version of Four Corners.
Both the Carmel and St Mary’s students enjoyed practising their Te Reo together to celebrate Te Wiki o Te Reo Māori.
