Carmel competed in the North Island Secondary Schools’ Rowing Championships over the weekend, bringing their season of dedicated training and competition with the North Shore Rowing Club to a strong finish.

A special thank you to Chris Brake for coaching and preparing the crews throughout the Secondary Schools’ regatta season.

Despite heading straight to the championships following their Year 12 Camp at Tongariro, the girls delivered an outstanding performance. Carmel crews reached the A Finals in both the Novice 8 Division and the Novice Quad, with two crews also qualifying for the B Finals in the Coxed Four event.

Overcoming illness, injury, and several last-minute seat changes, the girls showed impressive resilience and teamwork to achieve these fantastic results.
