Carmel’s Annual Music Department Showcase – A Night to Remember!

On Thursday, July 31st, the Carmel Music Department lit up the stage with an unforgettable evening of music, talent, and school spirit at our Annual Music Showcase!

The evening featured performances from our Orchestra, Carmini and Carmelites choirs, B4 Tomorrow, Jazz Band, the Flute Choir, and String Ensemble. Each group presented a range of music, from traditional folk songs to Bon Jovi and Norah Jones. There was truly something for everyone, along with a vibrant and uplifting atmosphere that had the audience tapping their toes!

It was also the perfect preparation for our Orchestra and Jazz Band as they get ready to take part in the upcoming KBB Music Festival – we can’t wait to see them shine!

Huge congratulations to all our talented performers – your hard work and passion were on full display. And a big thank you to all the music directors, parents and whānau who came out to support and celebrate our incredible musicians – you helped make the night truly special.

Junior Treble Voices Festival
To conclude the week, the Year 7 & 8 Choir took part in the Junior Treble Voices Festival held at Westlake Girls High School on Friday 1st August. After rehearsing three massed items and individual workshops with the guest clinicians in the afternoon, the choirs shared a pizza dinner before taking part in an evening concert. It was a long day but the girls did themselves proud and enjoyed sharing the joy of singing with peers from schools across Auckland. Thanks to Mrs Mandy Verdonk and Whaea Kelly for supporting the girls with this event.
