Family Feud

The 2025 Carmel College edition of Family Feud was held on Tuesday the 5th of August in the Hall. Students across all year groups came together during lunchtime to encourage and cheer on their favourite team. In the student leadership team, we had Amelia, Eloise, Phoenix and Sophie. And against them, the Teacher team consisted of Mrs Davis, Ms Brown, Ms Coenen, and Ms Perkins.

Over the past few weeks, 100 students answered questions such as ‘which teaching department is most likely to survive a zombie apocalypse’, and ‘what is the best food/drink from the tuckshop’. The answers to these questions were guessed by the teams – the more popular an answer was, the more points they scored.

A crowd of students filled the hall as the lunch bell rang, in support of either team. Their excitement was evident through their loud reactions and supportive cheers. Three girls were also able to score themselves a prize during the game of ‘Guess the Song’ between the two rounds. This was a fun way to get the audience involved, and provided a break for the contestants.

In a thrilling showdown, the Teacher Team swept the Student Team, ultimately scoring the win. Most believed the teachers were at a disadvantage – the underdogs, as they weren’t students themselves – however, their triumph proved otherwise. In a show of good sportsmanship, the teachers shared the chocolate prize with the student contestants.

Well done to all who took part, and thank you to everyone who helped out with the event. This includes Amber Lee and Ava Waterhouse on the tech, Isabella Dultra and Keira Saldua taking photos, and the referee – Kriya D’sa. Family Feud would not be able to run as smoothly as it did, without you.
