At Carmel College, we use SchoolDocs, a secure online platform that helps us maintain, update, and review our school policies. This platform ensures our policies reflect current legislation, Ministry of Education guidelines, and best practices for schools in Aotearoa.
Policies are reviewed on a three-year cycle or sooner if needed. Before any updates are published, our school board reviews and comments on the proposed changes. When relevant, parents and caregivers are also invited to be part of the review process.
Policies Currently Under Review
You can now view and give feedback on policies currently up for review via the “Current Review” tab on our SchoolDocs site. From there, you’ll be able to:
- Read the policy under review
- Provide content feedback (suggestions to improve the wording or coverage)
- Share implementation feedback (how the policy works in practice at Carmel)
💡 Please note: if you spot incorrect information (e.g. location of first aid supplies), do not submit this through the review tool — instead, contact the principal or school board to let them know it needs to be updated.
