Jenny Green

This week, we farewell a much-loved and highly respected member of our Carmel College whānau. After an incredible 30 years of dedicated service in Year 7, Mrs Jenny Green is retiring from full-time teaching. For three decades, Jenny has been the first teacher for so many of our students, welcoming them into Carmel and guiding them through that important first year of their seven-year journey with us.

Beyond her work in the classroom, Jenny has been a driving force behind our Waterwise programme, tirelessly ensuring that generations of students have learned vital water safety skills and grown in confidence on the water.

Jenny’s connection to Carmel runs even deeper, with her own daughters having attended the college, strengthening her bond with our community. Over the years, she has inspired countless students and colleagues alike with her dedication, professionalism, and genuine care for each learner.

We are deeply grateful for everything Jenny has given to Carmel, her wisdom, her warmth, her humour, and her unwavering commitment to our students. She leaves a legacy of excellence and heart that will be felt for many years to come. On behalf of our whole community, we wish Jenny every joy, adventure, and fulfilment in this next chapter of life. She will always be part of the Carmel story.
