Success at Speech Competition
Held at Pupuke Golf Club, the competition brought together talented young speakers from across the North Shore to share their ideas and showcase their public speaking skills.
Izzy captivated the audience and judges with her speech, “Finders Keepers or Culture Stealers”, delivering her message with confidence, clarity and poise. Her thoughtful ideas and engaging presentation earned her the competition’s top honour.
As the winner, Izzy received the winner’s cup and school shield, along with $200 for Carmel College – a fantastic achievement for both Izzy and our school community.
We are incredibly proud of Izzy and the courage, preparation and dedication she has shown throughout this experience. She is a wonderful example of what young people can achieve when they find the confidence to share their voices.
Congratulations, Izzy! You have made Carmel College very proud.
Carmel Staff Take on the Auckland Marathon!
Perfect conditions, an early start and a fantastic team effort made for a memorable day at the Auckland Marathon on Sunday 1 November.
Just over 30 Carmel staff members took part, with colleagues tackling either the half marathon or 11km event.
The half marathon crew were up bright and early, departing Carmel at 5.30am, while the 11km team set off at 8am.
There was a great sense of camaraderie and encouragement throughout the day, with staff supporting one another to get across the finish line and enjoy the challenge.
The celebrations continued back at Carmel, where everyone came together for a well-deserved BBQ and a chance to share stories, celebrate achievements and debrief on the day’s efforts.
Congratulations to all our staff who took part – a wonderful example of teamwork, community spirit and looking after our wellbeing!
