Y7-13 Hockey Registration

Waterpolo 

Congratulations to the Senior Waterpolo team for placing 6th in the recent North Islands Championship, their highest placing since 2019.  The team is now preparing for the April New Zealand Nationals in Wellington.

Mountain Biking 

Well done to Elliott Hou who competed at the North Island Secondary Schools Mountain Biking Championships in Rotorua last week.  Elliott placed 6th in the cross-country event and 11th overall in the Enduro event.

 

Kayaking 

Well done to Sophie Davidson who competed last week in the inaugural New Zealand Secondary Schools Canoe Racing National Championships.  Sophie placed 2nd in the combined schools relay event, 3rd in the U14 250m B Final and 11th in Long Distance event.

 

Cricket 

Over the summer sports season, Carmel students joined with Northcote College in the 1B grade across Auckland.  Thank you to Northcote College for helping us facilitate our students in playing during the season and congratulations on placing 1st in the final.

This week a Carmel team competed in the Year 7/8 North Harbour Cricket Zone Day in the competitive grade, playing hardball.  Well done to the team for placing 2nd overall and thank you to Nina O’Leary and Nicola O’Leary for coaching the team on the day.

 

Orienteering 

Over the past 5 weeks, five Carmel students have been out each Thursday competing in the Northwest College Sport Orienteering competition.  Congratulations to these girls who have qualified for the Sprint Finals event – Stella Portella, Aless Nicholson and Juliette Goffinet.

 

North Harbour Softball 

Congratulations to Edin Irvine and Ciara Joseph who won the Grand Final with their North Harbour U15/U17 Softball team last week.

 

Horse of the Year 

Congratulations to Ellie McDonald who won a major title class at Horse of the Year (Cat A Pony Show Hunter of the Year).  This is a national event across all of New Zealand and she not only won the title, but also came second in the Lowry Medallion, the most points across the show in all disciplines – https://hoy.kiwi/dream-come-true-for-ellie-and-astro/
