Kia ora parents and students! Ready to take learning to the next level?
📢 Subject & Skills Workshops every Thursday afternoon, from 3:30 – 4:30 PM, at the School Library.
We are also excited to announce the start of the skills workshops which are designed to give students the chance to learn a variety of different skills in different areas. This term, we will have skill workshops in Chess, Digital art, and Study Tips!
Subject workshops are available for Year 7 to 10 students and are designed to help students strengthen their understanding, get ahead, and challenge themselves.
📚 What’s Covered?
✔️ Each week, we focus on a different subject, rotating between Maths, Science, and English & Humanities.
✔️ Sessions will build on classwork and include extension activities for those looking for an extra challenge.
Students can simply show up and join in! Whether your child needs extra support or wants to push themselves further, this is a great opportunity to receive help and improve in a friendly, collaborative environment.
In the workshops, specialized student tutors will provide support with current in-class work or offer extension activities for those seeking additional challenges. Tutors are also available to assist with homework and will have prepared resources for students who don’t have specific tasks to work on. A supervising teacher will be present during each session.
Please note that the subjects and skills covered each week are subject to change, click here for a schedule of subjects. This will help students plan accordingly and make the most of the workshops.
This initiative is organized by the Heads of Academic, Yoana and Angela. If you have any questions or would like more information, please don’t hesitate to contact Angela via email: 19010@carmel.school.nz
